“With the expansion of markets and the diversity of products, goods, and
properties, and the difculty of being aware of all commercial aspects, there
emerged an urgent need for a third party in the commercial exchange
process between the seller and the buyer; to facilitate each party’s access to
their desired goal. This third party was called the commercial and real estate
broker according to what is exchanged between the seller and the buyer. The
function of the commercial or real estate broker requires providing a sale at a
suitable price and in accordance with the seller’s terms, and providing the
buyer with a purchase at a price that suits him according to his requirements
and needs.”
Definition of
“This term refers to any individual, entity, company, or financial institution that
operates in the field of financial brokerage. The basic function of the commercial broker in all its categories is to arrange transactions for commercial
deals between the seller and the buyer in exchange for a percentage or commission agreed upon in advance. The commercial broker receives this
percentage after completing the deal from the seller or from the buyer or from
both according to the contract concluded between them. It is worth mentioning here that brokerage includes all types of trades, whether it is trade in cars,
apartments, or any other real estate, or even signing partnership contracts
between the seller and the buyer. Commercial brokerage or “brokerage” is
dened in Article 99 of the Jordanian Trade Law as a contract whereby one
party, called the broker or “commercial broker”, undertakes to guide the
other party to conclude an agreement or act as an intermediary for it in contract negotiations for a fee.”

“The names of the commercial broker do not differ much between countries, as
in most countries they call him a “broker”, but in some countries there are
names for the broker who specializes in real estate and homes. For example, in
Syria he is called a “broker” while in Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia he is
called a “real estate broker”.
“The job of the commercial broker is one of the popular jobs in commercial
markets, both regular markets and electronic markets. The commercial broker
can be an individual, institution, company, or any other commercial form. The
unique advantage of the commercial broker is his knowledge of commercial
opportunities that are unknown to both the seller and the buyer, as the seller
does not know the customer and the buyer does not know the goods.
